FATELUMI — Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

1. Introduction

FATELUMI is operated by WWW Holdings Ltd, trading as FATELUMI, a company registered in New Zealand.

This Privacy Policy explains how FATELUMI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal information collected through fatelumi.com and related services.

We recognise that birth information, personal questions, relationship details, and saved readings may be private or sensitive to users.

We aim to collect and process information only where it is reasonably necessary for providing and protecting our Services.

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

2. Who Is Responsible for Your Information

The organisation responsible for FATELUMI's personal information practices is:

WWW Holdings Ltd, trading as FATELUMI

Country: New Zealand

Website: https://fatelumi.com

Privacy contact: support@fatelumi.com

Business contact address: 8/227 Blenheim Road, Riccarton, Christchurch

Our service providers may process information on our behalf, but this does not remove our responsibilities under applicable privacy law.

3. Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you use FATELUMI, we may collect the following categories of information.

Account information

Email address, account identifiers, email confirmation status, authentication information, and account settings.

Passwords are handled by our authentication system and are not intended to be stored in readable form.

Profile information

A name you choose to provide, selected city or location, time zone, and other profile preferences.

Birth information

Date of birth, birth time or an approximate time range where supplied, birthplace and its selected place information, and indications of whether a birth time is exact, approximate, or unknown.

Reading information

Selected services, questions submitted, relevant compatibility information, generated results, saved readings, and access or unlock records.

Usage and security information

Records reasonably necessary to manage usage limits, monitor AI requests, investigate technical failures, protect accounts, and prevent abuse.

Communications

Messages and information you send when contacting support.

Subscription and payment information

Live paid checkout and recurring billing are not currently enabled. The current Stripe integration is restricted to sandbox testing. Subscription administration may involve customer, subscription, price and transaction identifiers, payment or subscription status, trial and billing-period dates, cancellation information, and other information required to administer the subscription.

Payment card details are entered through Stripe-hosted payment interfaces, not FATELUMI's fortune-reading forms. See section 11 for payment processing details.

We also maintain trial-redemption records, including hashed email identifiers, to prevent repeated free-trial claims. A hashed identifier is not the original email text, but is not necessarily anonymous information.

We do not require precise GPS coordinates for ordinary fortune readings.

4. How Information Is Collected

We collect information when you:

  • Register or sign in.
  • Complete or update your profile.
  • Submit birth details or questions.
  • Request or save a reading.
  • Use features subject to access or usage limits.
  • Contact our support team.

Certain technical information may also be generated automatically when the Website or its supporting services operate.

Where a third party supplies personal information to FATELUMI, we will consider applicable notice and collection requirements.

5. Why We Use Personal Information

We use information for legitimate service purposes, including:

  • Authenticating users and maintaining accounts.
  • Calculating astronomical and Saju-based reading inputs.
  • Producing AI-assisted interpretations.
  • Displaying and saving readings.
  • Applying free, testing, and Premium access rules.
  • Maintaining technical reliability and security.
  • Preventing misuse and investigating errors.
  • Responding to user requests.
  • Meeting legal obligations.
  • Administering subscription records and sandbox payment testing, and future purchases when live payment services become available, using the necessary Stripe information.

We do not sell users' private birth details, questions, or saved readings to data brokers.

We do not use private reading questions or birth details to build advertising profiles.

6. Birth Details and Personal Questions

Birth information may be necessary for some personalised services.

Birth time and birthplace may be optional depending on the type of reading.

You should provide only information that you are comfortable sharing and that is reasonably necessary for the requested Service.

Please avoid entering passwords, payment card details, identity document numbers, medical records, or unnecessary information about other people into open-ended question fields.

Where another person's information is supplied for compatibility or similar features, you are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate basis to provide it.

7. AI Processing

FATELUMI uses AI technology to generate or assist with written interpretations.

Our current AI integration uses OpenAI technology.

Depending on the selected reading, information sent for AI generation may include calculated astronomical or Saju-related data, relevant user-supplied birth information, compatibility inputs, selected Tarot cards, the question submitted, and the requested reading language. If required sections are missing, the existing partial reading and relevant inputs may also be processed to complete them.

We aim to limit information shared for AI processing to what is necessary for the requested function.

AI processing may take place outside New Zealand.

AI-generated content can contain errors. FATELUMI uses calculation and validation measures but does not guarantee that every interpretation is accurate.

The handling of data by an AI service provider is also subject to the applicable provider arrangements and privacy safeguards.

Our API requests ask OpenAI not to store the response using its response-storage setting. This setting does not by itself establish zero provider retention or determine all provider processing practices; those depend on the applicable OpenAI terms and arrangements.

8. Hosting, Authentication and Other Providers

We use technical service providers to support the Website, database, authentication, infrastructure, and AI functionality.

These providers may process information where necessary to deliver their contracted services.

Access to personal information should be limited to authorised functions and legitimate service requirements.

We may also use third-party data sources that provide non-personal reference information.

Place-name information is supported by GeoNames, whose data is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.

The Website loads fonts hosted by Google, including language-specific fonts. Loading these fonts causes your browser to contact Google's font services, which may receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser information. Font loading does not send your private birth details, questions, or reading text to Google.

We do not treat a third-party provider's involvement as permission to use personal information for unrelated purposes.

9. International Data Processing

FATELUMI is operated from New Zealand but may use service providers and technical infrastructure located in other countries.

This may involve international processing, storage, or access to personal information.

Where New Zealand Privacy Act requirements apply to overseas disclosures, we will take the steps required by law, including assessing the applicable safeguards or obtaining appropriately informed authorisation where necessary.

We will also consider additional requirements where privacy laws of other jurisdictions apply.

10. Advertising and Marketing

At the date of this Policy, third-party advertising has not been activated as a live revenue-generating feature of FATELUMI.

If advertising is introduced, we will update the relevant disclosures before deploying advertising technologies that process additional personal information.

This may include information about advertising partners, cookies, consent choices, and any region-specific rights.

We may introduce optional promotional or referral programmes.

We will not represent that a future advertising or affiliate feature is already active.

Marketing communications, if introduced, will be subject to applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements.

11. Payment and Subscription Information

Live paid checkout and recurring billing are not currently enabled. Stripe is the intended payment processor; the existing integration is restricted to sandbox testing.

When paid checkout becomes available, the confirmed Premium model is a one-time 3-day (72-hour) free trial for new eligible customers, with a valid payment card required and no subscription fee during the trial. Unless cancelled before trial expiry, it converts to US$4.99 per month, plus any applicable taxes disclosed at checkout, and renews monthly unless cancelled. Our Terms of Service explain cancellation, access and refunds.

Payment card details are entered through Stripe-hosted checkout and subscription-management interfaces, not FATELUMI's fortune-reading forms. Stripe processes the payment information needed to provide those services.

FATELUMI supplies account-reference information to associate Stripe customers and subscriptions with the correct account. We receive and use the customer, subscription, payment-status, and transaction information actually required for subscription administration, including relevant identifiers, trial and billing periods, and cancellation status. FATELUMI therefore retains payment-related metadata; this Policy does not claim that we hold no payment-related information.

Stripe's own privacy terms apply to its processing activities. Please review Stripe's Privacy Policy.

12. Browser Sessions and Technical Storage

FATELUMI uses browser-based session mechanisms to maintain authentication.

Authentication session information is persisted in browser storage and handled by our authentication infrastructure. Your selected interface language is also saved in local browser storage so it can be restored on later visits.

Clearing browser storage or signing out may affect access to the account on that device.

We may use technical storage necessary for authentication, security, preferences, and normal website operation.

If optional analytics or advertising technologies are introduced, relevant notices and choices will be provided as required by applicable law.

13. Information Sharing

We may share personal information:

  • With service providers performing necessary technical functions.
  • Where reasonably necessary to provide a reading requested by the user.
  • With Stripe for necessary sandbox subscription testing and, when live payment functionality becomes available, payment and subscription administration.
  • Where required or authorised by applicable law.
  • Where necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, or serious security threats, subject to legal requirements.
  • In connection with a lawful business restructuring or transfer, subject to applicable privacy obligations.

We do not publicly display private birth information or personal reading questions as part of ordinary Service operation.

We do not sell personal information to unrelated advertisers.

14. Security Measures

We use technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect personal information.

These may include authentication, server-side access controls, restricted administrative permissions, and secure handling of service credentials.

No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Users should protect their passwords, use trusted devices, and notify us if they suspect account compromise.

We may review security records where reasonably necessary to investigate incidents.

15. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or for another lawful purpose.

Account and profile information may be retained while an account remains active.

Saved readings and associated information may be retained to support the account's reading history.

Technical, security, AI usage, billing and transaction records, and backups may have different retention requirements and may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required.

Trial-redemption records, including hashed email identifiers and associated redemption information, are designed to remain available after account deletion to prevent repeated free-trial abuse. We retain such records only while there is a lawful need for that purpose.

Some information may need to be retained after account closure to meet legal obligations, address disputes, prevent fraud, or protect system security.

We will not retain identifiable personal information indefinitely without a lawful purpose.

Retention and deletion depend on the record type, its lawful purpose, and the applicable operational and legal requirements. This Policy does not promise a fixed retention period or immediate removal from all systems.

16. Access and Correction Rights

You may request access to personal information we hold about you.

You may also request correction of information that is inaccurate or incomplete.

Certain profile and birth details may be editable through your account.

To make a privacy request, contact support@fatelumi.com.

We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing information.

Requests will be handled within applicable legal timeframes.

17. Account Closure and Deletion Requests

You may request account closure and deletion of personal information by contacting support@fatelumi.com. Account deletion is not currently available as a self-service action in the account page.

We will assess and process such requests in accordance with applicable privacy laws, operational requirements, and legitimate retention obligations.

Some information may be retained where legally required or reasonably necessary for a lawful purpose, including trial-abuse prevention, billing obligations, disputes, and security, as described in section 15.

Removing information from active systems may not immediately remove it from every backup or legally retained record.

We will not promise immediate or universal deletion where our actual systems or applicable laws do not support such a guarantee.

18. Accuracy of Personal Information

We take reasonable steps to use information that is accurate and relevant for its intended purpose.

Users can help by keeping their account information current.

Changes to birth information may affect future readings but do not necessarily change interpretations previously generated and saved.

19. Automated Processing

Some Service functions use automated calculations and AI-generated interpretations.

These systems produce entertainment and reflective content, not professional determinations of legal rights, medical status, creditworthiness, or employment eligibility.

If we introduce automated processing that has materially different consequences for users, we will review and update the relevant disclosures and legal requirements.

20. Privacy Breaches

If we become aware of a privacy or security incident, we will assess the nature of the incident, the information affected, and any risk of harm.

Where a privacy breach meets the applicable legal threshold for notification, we will notify the relevant authority and affected individuals as required.

We may also take steps to contain the incident, investigate its cause, and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

21. Users Outside New Zealand

FATELUMI may be accessed from different countries.

Users in certain jurisdictions may have additional rights concerning access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, or the use of personal information.

The availability and scope of these rights depend on applicable law.

We will assess relevant requests in accordance with the legal requirements that apply to our operations.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to remove mandatory privacy rights.

22. Children's Privacy

FATELUMI is intended for adults aged 18 and over.

We do not knowingly provide accounts to children under 18.

If you believe a child has supplied personal information, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

23. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, providers, technical systems, or legal obligations change.

The current version will be displayed on the Website with an updated revision date.

Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before introducing material changes to the handling of personal information.
